At St Mark's we have a number of small groups; spiritual, social and community

Some groups meet regularly in people's homes for prayer, studying the Bible, getting to know one another and sharing together.

We have groups for children which meet during our 10am Sunday service on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of the month (when we have Holy Communion services). Fire Circle is our monthly group for young people (of secondary school age) and meets in the evening for games, discussion and pizza, often around a fire pit!

We run a Bereavement Support Group on the second Sunday of the month at 3pm in the church hall. This is a confidential and supportive group for any who might find it helpful, to come and go as they are able. There is no pressure to attend all of the groups or to attend church. It is rather an opportunity to meet with others who have experienced loss, to remember loved ones and to talk about living with loss. All welcome.

Our Social Committee organises a programme of social events throughout the year, including quizzes, family events and shared lunches, to which all are welcome.

Beers at the Bull takes place on the first Thursday of the month at our parish pub, the Bull, on Frant Road. It is an opportunity to socialise away from St Mark’s in a relaxed environment and offers a space for informal chat and to forge friendships.

During Lent (the period of forty days leading up to Easter) we run weekly groups with a focus on an aspect of our spirituality.

We regularly have groups of young people and of adults preparing for Confirmation (to affirm publicly their Christian faith, enter the Church of England and receive the Holy Spirit). Annually we run a short preparation course for children to be admitted to Holy Communion. We also run a short marriage preparation course annually.

There are many opportunities for church members to volunteer, work together and use our talents for others.

We welcome new faces. Please contact the office for more information.
