Children, Young People and Families

Children, young people, singles, couples and families are all welcome at any of our services. On the first and third Sunday of the month, we have an all-age, family-friendly service at 10am. On the second, fourth and fifth Sundays of the month, primary school aged children are welcome to join our Sunday Club in the church hall (children re-join the adults for Holy Communion towards the end of the service). We have a creche available at the back of the main church building with books and colouring for pre-school children. Secondary school aged children are welcome in services and many volunteer in various church roles. On the first Sunday of the month, Fire Circle, St Mark’s youth group meets in the church hall for games, discussion, pizza-eating and marshmallow toasting around a fire.

Services of baptism and thanksgiving take place regularly at St Mark’s for people of all ages. Every November children aged seven and above can choose, with the consent of their families, to be admitted to Holy Communion, following a short course of preparation. For adults and children aged twelve and over, there are regular opportunities to explore faith and the possibility of Confirmation.

St Mark’s has a regular programme of social events for all ages and holds a number of services in our church garden.

We have a close relationship with our church school of St Mark’s

Sunday Club

Sunday club at St Mark's Church is for primary school aged children. The club meets in the church hall on the second, fourth and fifth Sunday of every month during the 10am service.  Children learn about God in a fun, safe way with Bible stories, prayer, craft, singing and games. Our prayer is to teach the children that God loves them and they can love and serve God too.

If you have any questions, or would like to know more, please contact the church office on 01892 526069.

Fire Circle

Fire Circle (our monthly group for young people of secondary school age) meets on the first Sunday of the month, 5-6:30pm in the church hall for pizza, games, conversation and toasting marshmallows. If you would like to come along, please ask a parent or carer to complete a registration form, available at the back of church or from the church office. Once a year, we go on pilgrimage with our families. In 2023, we walked from Icklesham to Rye, exploring three churches on the way. In 2024, we walked from Chilham to Canterbury

We look forward to seeing you!
